Trump Touts ‘Manufacturing Turnaround’ After Jobs Report; Ukraine, US to Resume Peace Talks Next Week
President Donald Trump touted a “manufacturing turnaround” after Friday’s jobs report, which showed employers created 151,000 jobs last month, and downplayed the possibility that tariffs or massive federal layoffs would hurt the economy. Trump is also planning to sign an executive order taking aim at a program that forgives student loans for people in public service careers.
The cryptocurrency industry elite are set to meet with Trump at the White House on Friday to discuss how the government will enact Trump’s vision of making the country the “crypto capital of the world.”
Trump issued a statement that he would consider tougher sanctions against Russia unless it agreed to a cease-fire and reached a peace deal with Ukraine. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would hold talks with the United States on ending the war when he meets with U.S. officials in Saudi Arabia next Monday.
