Trump Drops Plan to Double Canada Tariffs on Steel, Aluminum; US–Ukraine Talks Underway as Kyiv Launches Major Attack
President Donald Trump on Tuesday dropped his plan to double tariffs on all steel and aluminum products coming into the United States from Canada, after the province of Ontario suspended a 25 percent surcharge on electricity it exports to the United States.
Trump is meeting the CEOs of America’s biggest companies on Tuesday, many of whose market value has dipped in recent days as recession and inflation fears soured consumer and investor sentiment.
Senior officials from Ukraine and the United States opened talks in Saudi Arabia on how to end the three-year war just hours after Kyiv launched its biggest-ever drone attack on Moscow.
