Trump: US to Hit Iran Hard After U.S. Forces Attack; Grand Canyon Floods: 1 Dead, Others Missing

U.S. President Trump told Fox News’ Trey Yingst on Monday that there will be a response to Iran’s strikes on U.S. bases in Jordan. “We’re going to hit them hard,” Trump said. U.S. forces struck two Iranian launchers on Iran’s Larak Island on Sunday, a U.S. official said, marking the first known American strikes on Iran since ‌late July. The strikes were an attempt to protect operations in the Strait of Hormuz after U.S. Central Command completed the clearing of sea mines from the strait’s international shipping routes last week.

One person is dead, and others are missing after flash flooding in the Grand Canyon, the National Park Service said on Aug. 30. The body of a 46-year-old man was found near Crystal Rapids along the Colorado River, the service said late Sunday. A local medical examiner was on site. The service said there was no additional information to share about the death at this time.
