Since early June, millions of Hongkongers have protested an extradition bill that proposed allowing people to be transferred to mainland China for trial.

The bill, which would allow any country, including mainland China, to seek extradition of criminal suspects, has drawn broad opposition.

Others held up "No Extradition" signs calling on the Hong Kong government to categorically scrap the extradition bill rather than merely suspend it as they have done now.

It also comes on the same day that a new Extradition Bill is expected to gain the royal assent it needs to become law.

The march was initially organized by a local pro-democracy group to protest the extradition bill.
