However, that very same week, the Biden administration also announced that they would be scrapping Title 42, the emergency health measure keeping illegal migrants from coming into the country due to COVID.

Some 102,000 illegal immigrants were expelled under Title 42 in March, as well as over 62,000 in January.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, CBP encounter data includes illegal immigrants who have been apprehended under Title 8 immigration law, Title 8 “inadmissibles,” and noncitizens processed for expulsion under Title 42.

About 66,000 of these illegal immigrants were expelled under Title 42—the public health order that the Supreme Court has ordered the Biden administration to keep in place.
