In other words, the CCP is willing to sacrifice the two carriers to prevent Western military aid to Taiwan, while China’s amphibious landing forces and navy ships seek to speedily capture the self-governing island.
Tsai Ing-wen said the move did not help China's international image and let the people of Taiwan know more about the nature of the regime. She called on the CCP to adopt self-restraint and refrain from provocation.

The situation in other countries is similar.
While Taiwan doesn't have a mutual defense agreement with the United States, the 1979 Taiwan Relations Act does guarantee that the United States will furnish Taiwan with the capabilities necessary to maintain its own defense.
Since 2020, the Chinese regime has stepped up its military pressure on Taiwan. Although it has never ruled the self-governing democracy, China insists that Taiwan is part of its territory and has threatened to take over the island by force.
The first occurred between 4:32 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. on Saturday, when a J-15 intermittently illuminated a Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) F-15 with radar.
That hasn't dampened Beijing's global ambitions, however, with conquest over the self-governing island democracy of Taiwan, driving Indian forces from their disputed border, and asserting control over islands in the East China and South China Sea all

The remarks come as the regime has sharply escalated military pressure on Taiwan in recent months. The CCP considers the self-ruled island as part of its territory and has never ruled out using force to bring it under the Party's control.
