On Thursday evening in Hong Kong, Chief Executive Leung announced that he would send his chief secretary, Carrie Lam, to meet with the protesters.

On the same day, a consultation report was released by the Task Force on Constitutional Development headed by Chief Secretary Carrie Lam Cheung Yuet-Ngor. Lam explained the two reports to the LegCo lawmakers.

However, due to health issues, the judge allowed Lam to be released immediately. Lam later appealed his conviction.

Lam did not appear in court due to health reasons. Defense Lawyer Audrey Eu read out a mitigation statement from Lam in court. "The only way for journalists to defend press freedom is reporting," Eu quoted Lam as saying.

Then they follow it up by carjacking an SUV owned by the Asian student to whom one of them brags about carrying out the bombing. These guys did everything they could to get caught.

A few hours later on the same day, Max Chung, the organizer of a march in Yuen Long on July 27, was attacked by four men carrying umbrellas and metal rods on the banks of Lam Tsuen River in Tai Po.
