PORT-AU-PRINCE—Two of the 17 American and Canadian Christian missionaries taken hostage in Haiti last month have been released, the group that arranged for their trip to the Caribbean nation said on Sunday, without giving further details.

Earlier this month, the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti said that kidnappings have sharply risen in Haiti in recent months after the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise and a 7.2 magnitude earthquake.
