Odell Beckham Jr. has returned to the New York Giants, and he’s among three receivers who joined the team on Monday.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Beckham played for the Giants from 2014 to 2018 after the team made him the No. 12 pick out of LSU in 2014. Beckham has 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns in his career.

New York also added wide receivers Braxton Berrios and JuJu Smith-Schuster on Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on X. Berrios played for the Houston Texans last season, and Smith-Schuster played for the Chiefs last year.

The trio will give additional wide receiver talent, experience, and depth for Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart to work with in his second season. Dart completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 2,272 yards and 15 touchdowns versus five interceptions as a rookie.

New York has been dealing with injuries at the receiver position since last season, which began with a season-ending knee injury to star wideout Malik Nabers. The Giants aren’t guaranteed to have Nabers back right away in the 2026 season, and fellow wide receiver Darius Slayton has been recovering from a core muscle injury.

New York also lost wide receiver and kick returner Gunner Olszewski to an Achilles tear in OTAs. Before his injury, the Giants had added Calvin Austin, Darnell Mooney, and Ryan Miller this offseason.

Beckham’s return to New York will look different than his first stint, which ended with the Giants via a trade with the Cleveland Browns. He was the Giants’ go-to wide receiver for five seasons with at least 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns in four of those seasons. Beckham’s only quiet season with the Giants came in 2017 when he played in just four games due to injury.

Beckham will now play more of a support role, as he hasn’t eclipsed 500 yards since 2023. He started off as the go-to wideout with the Browns in 2019, but his production dropped after another 1,000-yard season that year.

Beckham had just 319 yards in 2020 and 232 yards in 2021 before the team waived him. The Los Angeles Rams picked up Beckham that year, and he won a Super Bowl ring with the team and caught a 17-yard touchdown pass in that game.

He sustained a knee injury in the Super Bowl, and Beckham didn’t play in the 2022 season amid recovery. His career resumed in 2023 as a free agent with the Baltimore Ravens, and Beckham connected with now-Giants head coach John Harbaugh that year.

Harbaugh served as the Ravens’ head coach at the time, and he utilized Beckham in the passing game for star quarterback Lamar Jackson. Beckham caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns.

It wasn’t enough for Beckham to stay on, as the Ravens released him in March 2024. Beckham signed with the Miami Dolphins in May 2024, but he never became a prime target for former Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Because of injury and surgery, Beckham started the season on the injured list and didn’t play until October that year. Beckham played in nine games and caught nine passes for 55 yards.

The Dolphins and Beckham mutually agreed on parting ways in December 2024, and Beckham didn’t play anywhere in 2025. Speculation of Beckham’s return to the NFL and the Giants sprouted up when he worked out for the team in April.

Similar to Beckham, Smith-Schuster will look to be an effective role player at this stage of his career. Smith-Schuster once served as one of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ go-to wideouts early in his career between 2017 and 2020, but his numbers have largely dwindled since.

Smith-Schuster had just 33 receptions for 345 yards and a touchdown in 2025.

Berrios, meanwhile, hasn’t been a major part of a team’s offense since 2021 with the New York Jets. He had 46 receptions for 431 yards and two touchdowns that year.

Berrios hasn’t surpassed 27 receptions for 238 yards and a touchdown in a season since that time. Last season, Berrios had six catches for 37 yards.
