President Donald Trump has announced plans for a large-scale Independence Day celebration in Washington for July 4, celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday with a rally, musical performances, and a massive fireworks display.

The event, titled “Tribute to America,” will take place at the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Trump said the event will honor the American people, military, history, and the nation’s accomplishments as the country celebrates the 250th anniversary of its founding.

“We are going to host the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all, a ‘TRIBUTE TO AMERICA,’” he said on TruthSocial. He added that the program would conclude with “the LARGEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN HISTORY, right here in our Nation’s Capital.”

The fireworks display will take place near the National Mall and Washington Monument.

According to the president, more than 300 members of U.S. military bands, orchestras, and ceremonial units will participate in what he called the largest joint military music and ceremonial performance ever assembled. The program will feature patriotic songs, American classics, military displays, flyovers, and aerial demonstrations by U.S. military aircraft.

“We will have none of those people that put you to sleep and constantly complain!” Trump wrote.

Trump said he will deliver keynote remarks during the event, which he described as a celebration of the country’s spirit, strength, resolve, and triumphs.

Trump encouraged supporters and visitors from across the country to attend the event, calling it a historic occasion and a celebration of America’s next 250 years.

Another event, the Salute to America rally, will take place on the National Mall on July 4; it is being organized by the District of Columbia.

Meanwhile, plans are also underway for the Great American State Fair hosted by Freedom 250, which is organizing 16 days of festivities from June 25 to July 10.

Five artists have dropped out of the event, citing concerns over security and the event being politically charged.

Country singer Martina McBride, rapper Young MC, The Commodores, Morris Day of Morris Day and The Time, and Bret Michaels, lead singer of the rock band “Poison,” all dropped out of the event.

Trump will kick off the Great American State Fair during the opening ceremony on June 24 at the National Mall.
