NEW YORK—In a letter to family members of victims of the 9/11 tragedy, the president of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum said no politicians can speak at this year’s 9/11 anniversary ceremony.

“This year, the reading of the names by family members will be the exclusive focus of the program,” Joe Daniels, president and CEO of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, said in a letter to family members Wednesday, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Many family members of victims “have expressed concern that the site is sliding back into political dysfunction,” The Associated Press reported.
