It’s a good thing octopi don’t get much larger than birds, as this video shows.
A video uploaded last year on YouTube has gone viral, showing an octopus pulling down a seagull that was resting on the water’s surface in New South Wales, Australia.
The incident went down as a family was feeding the bird french fries.
As the bird was eating, the sneaky octopus appeared out of nowhere and enveloped it with its tentacles.

The children can be heard, with one saying: “I don’t want to watch!”
“Oh no, that’s terrible,” someone remarks. “Keep fighting bird!”
A few moments later, the bird is seen lifeless as the octopus disappears off into the water.
“That’s nature at its best,” says a man off camera.
