One might conclude that those individuals “fortunate” enough to attend the Chinese Spectacular by Divine Performing Arts (DPA) at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, N.J. on August 10 did, in fact, have a Chinese dragon by their sides; at the very least in the form of “Supreme” entertainment.
Sanjiv Patel a pschologist in Fairlawn, Pennsylvania said " Its fantastic, yeah—it’s a beatuful show." Patel brought his children, wife, and some other extended family members.
When asked what he liked best, he responded " The choreography, the synchronicity of the movements. The story line, That was fascinating … The peacefulness, the connection with the people, and the Buddhist philosophy."
Patel went on to explain how the DPA show differed from other cultural shows. "It was much more faithful, more divine. There’s deep faith behing the performers. [Regarding the act that depicts the persecution of Falun Gong in mainland China] it gives you that contrast between turmoil and peacefulness."
A couple from New York also had praise for DPA. Warren, an IT executive in security & technology, and his wife Wendy, who owns a Pilates and dance studio, were absolutely enthralled by the show.
Warren began by saying, “It was outstanding, great entertainment.”
Wendy added, “The choreography was amazing, I have done choreography in the past, and they nailed it.”
Warren continued, “It was like nothing I’ve ever seen before.”
Wendy finished by saying, “I’ve seen all kinds of dances around New York, and this was just different. As New Yorkers we thought we had seen everything. We are very hard to please, but this was just incredible.”
Divine Performing Arts will be performing at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan on August 24. Tickets range from $35 to $85.
