Six of the 12 semifinalists who competed at NTD’s 8th International Piano Competition on Friday have advanced to the finals.
Contestants were required to perform a complete piano sonata by Beethoven and a special commissioned composition.
The competition selected one piece from works created by Artistic Director of Shen Yun Performing Arts Mr. D.F. and rearranged it as the commissioned composition.
Organizers say this year’s commissioned piece, “Divine’s Calling,” blends the essence of both Eastern and Western classical music, giving a profound sense of the divine.
Semifinalists had the opportunity to win “Best Rendition Awards of the Commissioned Composition.”
