Melania Trump Documentary to Hit Theaters in January

Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the release date for its upcoming documentary “Melania,” which offers a behind-the-scenes look at President Donald Trump’s return to the White House earlier this year, as told from the perspective of his wife, Melania Trump.

The forthcoming film will premiere exclusively in theaters on Jan. 30 in the United States and select territories overseas, the entertainment giant announced on Thursday.

“‘MELANIA’ offers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration—through the eyes of the First Lady-elect herself,” a synopsis reads.

“Step inside Melania Trump’s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family.

“With exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments, ‘MELANIA’ showcases Mrs. Trump’s return to one of the world’s most powerful roles.”

The documentary is expected to stream on Prime Video after its theatrical debut. However, a release date has not yet been announced.

The film is helmed by Brett Ratner, the director behind the blockbuster films “Rush Hour” (1998), “Red Dragon” (2002), and “X-Men: The Last Stand” (2006).

Melania Trump—who also serves as a producer on the documentary—discussed the project during an interview with “Fox & Friends” on Jan. 13, just one week before Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president, marking his second non-consecutive term in office.

“We started the production in November, and we are shooting right now, so it’s a day-to-day life, what I’m doing, what kind of responsibilities I have,” she said.

“It’s day-to-day, from transition team to moving to the White House, packing, establishing my team, the first lady office, moving into the White House, what it takes to make the residence your home, to hire the people that you need.”

Melania Trump said she was inspired to make the documentary following the success of her memoir, “Melania.”

Published in October 2024, the book recounts the first lady’s childhood in Slovenia as well as “the pivotal moments that led her to the world of high fashion in Europe and New York, and the serendipitous meeting with Donald Trump, a chance encounter that forever changed the course of her life,” a synopsis reads.

“I’m very proud, and I get so many messages and letters [about] how they enjoyed the book, and they would love—my fans and people—would love to hear more from me,” Melania Trump told “Fox & Friends.”

“So I had an idea to make a movie—to make a film about my life,” she added. “My first priority is, you know, to be a mom, to be a first lady, to be a wife, and … serve the country.”
