A Last-Minute Order From Obama Enabled Nonstop Leaking On Trump From Intelligence Community | Truth Over News

We hope that you all had, and are still having, a wonderful Thanksgiving! A few episodes back we discussed how a last-minute Executive Order from President Obama altered the succession plan at the DOJ—right before President Trump’s inauguration. But that wasn’t the only last-minute EO that Obama issued.

In the final weeks of the Obama administration, Section 2.3 of Executive Order 12333—Procedures for the Availability or Dissemination of Raw Signals Intelligence Information by the NSA—was signed into effect. Although widely overlooked, the implications were broad and far-reaching.

Agencies and individuals could now ask the NSA for access to specific surveillance simply by claiming the intercepts contained relevant information that was useful to a particular mission. No privacy protection of the raw data was undertaken. Under the new rules, sharing of information was made significantly easier—and the information being shared was raw and unfiltered.

Like many, we wondered at the timing of the order. But what we found particularly curious was that it was so overdue. Allow me to explain.
