New York’s Medicaid Spending Soars Amid Industry Lobbying | New York Insider
June 20, 2024
Liam O'Neill interviews Bill Hammond, senior fellow for health policy at the Empire Center for Public Policy, on the growth of health care spending in New York—with a particular focus on Medicaid. Since the pre-pandemic era, Gov. Kathy Hochul's budget has increased by 35 to 40 percent, with Medicaid spending growing significantly. Despite generous funding, however, New York's Medicaid program continues to pay some of the lowest rates, raising questions about the impact of industry lobbying and the allocation of funds. ---- Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.
