Two federal judges have ruled that the Trump administration must reinstate thousands of workers fired by the Office of Personnel Management. The judges ruled the firings violated legal procedures, including failure to give proper notice.
Senators will vote on Friday on a Republican-led resolution to extend government funding through Sept. 30. At least eight Democrats must vote with the GOP to pass the measure. It now looks likely that Democrats will provide the necessary votes after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said he would support the resolution—despite his reluctance.
President Donald Trump is meeting with state leaders this week, including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul. Discussions will focus on jobs, tariffs, and energy policy. Vice President JD Vance highlighted Trump’s push to bring jobs back to the United States and to reduce reliance on China.
