US, Saudi Arabia Sign Nuclear Deal; US Targets Iran for 12th Night | NTD Good Morning (July 23)

The United States and Saudi ‌Arabia announced an agreement on Wednesday on civil nuclear power, letting the kingdom enrich uranium and build nuclear reactors using U.S. technology, without requiring the snap U.N. inspections that Washington has previously demanded from ​Iran. The deal has to pass Congress to go into ​force. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the deal is conditional on Riyadh joining ​the Abraham Accords to normalize relations with Israel.

U.S. Central Command says U.S. forces carried out another round of strikes against Iran for the 12th consecutive night. The command says Iran does not control the strategic waterway and that it remains open to commercial shipping despite threats and attacks by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Central Command adds that commercial vessels continue to transit the strait with U.S. military support.

Trump took his political message to Georgia on July 22, warning about the dangers of communism. The president urged Republicans to come out and vote in the midterm elections in November. The president also highlighted what his administration has done in the past year and a half, including rolling out the Trump Accounts program, for which he says more than 7 million children are already signed up.
