The Steele dossier was fed into U.S. channels through several different sources. One such source was Sir Andrew Wood, the former British ambassador to Russia, who had been briefed about the dossier by Steele.

Instead, it has since been revealed that the so-called "Steele dossier," which is at the center of the Russia collusion narrative, was used by FBI and DOJ officials to obtain a spy warrant on Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page.

The infamous dossier compiled by Steele, which contained unverified claims and falsehoods, was used by the FBI to surveil former President Donald Trump's campaign in its "Crossfire Hurricane" operation.

The dossier was written by British former MI6 agent Christopher Steele and paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Winer then met with Steele in late September 2016 and gave Steele a copy of the “second dossier." Steele went on to share this second dossier with the FBI, which may have used it to corroborate his dossier.

Similarly, Mueller drew a blank over the name of Fusion GPS, the company that had hired Christopher Steele on behalf of the Democratic National Committee to produce the infamous “Steele dossier” about Donald Trump.

The FBI used the fraudulent Steele Dossier, which was bought and paid for from a foreign source by associates of Hillary Clinton and her campaign through the shady and shadowy Fusion GPS operation.

Fusion GPS was reportedly paid just over $1 million for their efforts at producing and pushing the Steele Dossier in 2016. Steele was reportedly paid $160,000 for his role in the creation of the Dossier.

His materials were compiled into the infamous “Steele dossier” that was used by the FBI to obtain warrants from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court to spy on low-level Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

This “second dossier” had been compiled by another longtime Clinton operative, former journalist Cody Shearer, and echoed claims made in the Steele dossier. Winer gave Steele a copy of the “second dossier.”

The dossier was put together by Christopher Steele, a former MI6 British intelligence agent, using second- and third-hand sources close to the Kremlin. The dossier was characterized as “salacious and unverified” by Comey.

As I stated in an earlier column, this all started as a dirty political trick when Hillary Clinton's campaign hired Fusion GPS to create what has become known as “the Steele dossier.”

Consider the impact Rosenstein's statement has on the entirety of the Steele dossier. The lack of U.S. collusion with Russia undermines much of the dossier's allegations.

The dossier had been paid for by the Clinton campaign and the DNC, and was produced by Fusion GPS and former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. 

But none of the 103 key allegations contained in the Steele dossier were verified by special counsel Robert Mueller's 22-month investigation.

The Steele dossier was a piece of opposition research put together by former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele.

Fusion GPS is also the company that commissioned the creation of the Steele dossier, a document filled with debunked and unverified claims about Trump.

Steele fed claims from his dossier to the FBI, who then used them to justify spying on the Trump campaign.

Connoisseurs may want to scrutinize the story in the Sept. 25 paper about the stunning revelations last week about web of lies and dissimulation that surrounded the Steele dossier and the effort to “get Trump.”
