'Gun Control Bill' Biden also touted the Safer Communities Act passed in June which includes federal funding to enforce red flag laws and enhances background checks for gun buyers between the ages of 18 and 21.

And they’re also betting on red flag gun laws in the aftermath of recent shootings. Biden has stated that gun control should be “central to voting” in November.

In March, Biden signed an executive order to increase the number of federal background checks before firearm sales, while increasing the use of so-called "red flag" laws.

They include expanding the federal gun background check system, laws around weapons storage, and red flag laws, which refer to measures that allow police or family members to petition a state court to order the removal of a firearm from an individual

Such orders—sometimes known as red flag laws—which a number of states have begun to allow in recent years, authorize courts to temporarily bar people from owning or accessing firearms.

Under the "red flag" law, it is possible for a person to be barred from purchasing or possessing a firearm if a judge finds them to be a risk to themselves or others.

This will include approaches like ramping up implementation of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA), pressing for adopting extreme risk protection orders or so-called "red flag" laws, expanded background checks, and laws to hold gun makers accountable
