FBI Director Kash Patel said on Sept. 2 that authorities arrested multiple people and seized drugs and weapons during an operation targeting violent gangs in tribal communities.

The FBI seized website domains and servers used to raise funds and recruit members for the Hamas military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Sept. 1.

"The FBI can confirm that it is looking into the incident,” a spokesperson for the FBI told The Epoch Times in an emailed statement. “Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, we decline to comment further.”

The woman, who received the 2022 International Women of Courage Award, is no longer in United States, the department said.

The FBI has urged people with information on any of the unsolved cases to contact their local FBI field office, submit a tip online or 1-800-CALL-FBI.

The threat actors share the content in various forums or post it for sale in criminal marketplaces, the FBI said in an Aug. 10 public service announcement alert.

The victims would tell the scammers that the fraud would be reported to the FBI, at which point the fraudsters would impersonate FBI personnel and initiate conversations on platforms like Facebook Messenger, according to the agency.

On June 4, the FBI announced the creation of the Most Wanted Fraudsters List. Four days later, Escoe was added to the list, and she was apprehended, with help from Jamaican authorities, less than two months later.
