The 1776 Pledge is largely seen as a response to New York Times's "1619 Project," an article series centered on highly controversial claims such as that the United States is an inherently racist nation founded to preserve slavery.

The article, however, like CRT and the 1619 Project, tells only half of the story. Let’s follow its narrative in some detail.

CRT has been spotlighted by works such as The 1619 Project by New York Times writers. The 1619 Project, widely lauded by the political left, paints the United States as a country founded on slavery.

Projection There is more to be said about the Times’s handling of the mendacious 1619 Project, but I will leave that for another day. For now, let’s look at a couple of items from yesterday’s paper, the one dated Sept. 26, 2020.
