Man Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Monterey Park Near 60 Freeway

Police discovered a man’s body May 20 near a freeway overpass in Monterey Park.

Officers dispatched at 1:36 a.m. to Atlantic Boulevard near the Pomona (60) Freeway overpass located a man down in the middle of the northbound lanes, according to Sgt. Arlene Chaidez of the Monterey Park Police Department.

“The subject was unresponsive and appeared to have been struck by an unknown vehicle,” Chaidez said. “The Monterey Park Fire Department responded to the location and pronounced the subject dead at the scene.”

The department’s Traffic Bureau urged anyone with information about the fatal crash to call them at 626-307-1200.
