Oil Tanker Hit by Projectile in Strait of Hormuz, Military Organization Says

A UK military organization on Monday said it received a report of an oil tanker being struck by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz amid new warnings issued by the Iranian regime on Monday.

The UK Maritime Trade Organization (UKMTO) said it received a report of a tanker transiting out of the Strait of Hormuz being “hit by debris from unknown projectiles.”

“All crew are safe and no environmental impact,” the UKMTO added. “The tanker will continue to its next port of call. Authorities are investigating. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.”

The update comes as an Iranian general on Monday warned that the Islamic regime would attempt to widen the war with the United States if it is attacked again.

Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) spokesman Hossein Mohebbi, a general in the Iranian paramilitary group, said that the regime is preparing for a prolonged war with the United States and its allies, according to his comments carried by the semi-official Tasnim News.

“If a new aggression takes place, there will definitely be significant changes in our defense and our counteroffensive,” he said, further warning that Iran “will definitely change the geography of the war.”

Also, Mohebbi said Tehran “will definitely bring new weapons with new capabilities into the battlefield, and the world will be surprised.” He claimed the regime has produced new weapons during the months-long conflict with the United States. The IRGC spokesman did not elaborate.

It comes as a senior official with the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist group in Yemen has warned countries against joining Saudi Arabia in Yemen’s revived civil war, telling The Associated Press on Sunday that his group has assured the Trump administration that it won’t attack U.S. vessels in the Red Sea.

Mohamed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Houthis’ political bureau, said Washington reached out to the group after its rapid advance down Yemen’s western coast to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait earlier this month.

“We confirmed that we are not targeting the United States, or any other nation, in the strait, with the sole exception of the Saudi enemy,” he told The Associated Press in a Zoom interview from the Houthi-held Yemeni capital, Sanaa. “That remains the case.”

Speaking to Fox News over the past weekend, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated he is weighing his options and that “very big things” will happen in the Iran conflict in the “not so distant future.”

Trump told the news outlet that he has three options: “wiping Iran out,” “letting them rot economically,” or “making a deal.”

“My question is: If and when do I blow the entire nation up?” Trump added, according to Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst. “They better behave.”
