At East River Park, Corlears Hook Park and other locations across the city, over 600 employees of L’Oréal in New York sprung into action. Activities ranged from reading with kids and sorting clothes for the homeless to performing landscaping work in parks.
“We believe that sustainable growth can only be achieved when you act as a responsible corporate citizen,” said Laurent Attal, L’Oréal USA president and CEO when explaining the company’s desire to display corporate responsibility.
L’Oréal was founded at the start of the 20th century by French chemist Eugene Schueller. It has grown from a small hair dye business to a cosmetics empire, raking in billions in profit. Community service projects are not the only way L’Oréal has decided to celebrate its anniversaries.
