COVID-19 ‘FLiRT’ Variants Dominate US

A new family of COVID-19 variants named ‘FLiRT’ is now dominant in the United States. The CDC reports that one in three COVID-19 cases are caused by these variants. Although the infection rate is higher than the previous variants, the number of total reported COVID-19 cases has been on the decline.
