Drowning Trends Are on the Rise–Here’s Why: CDC Report
Recent CDC data show that drowning deaths began to rise, especially among young children and African Americans of all ages. This surge has not been seen in decades.
CDC researchers found that more than 4,500 people drowned annually from 2020 to 2022, up from 4,000 deaths per year in 2019. Frontline Health reports on the reasons for this surge.
