New York Democrats Shift Left; Trump Pressures Oil Companies on Gas Prices | NTD Good Morning (June 24)

All three candidates backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani won their House primary races on Tuesday, signaling a major shift to the left in New York’s Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, Trump-backed Anthony Constantino won the Republican primary to replace Congresswoman Elise Stefanik in an upstate New York district and is expected to win the heavily Republican district in November.

In the New York governor’s race, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman will face Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul in November. President Donald Trump has endorsed Blakeman, calling him “MAGA all the way.”

Trump said that oil prices are dropping, while accusing energy companies of keeping gas prices artificially high. Crude oil prices have fallen sharply following the ceasefire in Iran. Meanwhile, on the deal with Iran, Trump said Tehran had “fully and completely agreed” to the highest level of nuclear inspections going forward. Iranian officials say no inspection visit has been scheduled for nuclear sites struck by the United States.

Trump visited Pennsylvania on Tuesday to spotlight American manufacturing at Mack Trucks’ facility. The president thanked the workers and said American manufacturing is experiencing a renewed growth under his administration, and highlighted his tariffs as helping domestic manufacturers compete against foreign producers. Mack Trucks says it has invested more than $400 million in upgrades and expansions at the Pennsylvania operation over the past decade.
