A powerful storm system that swept from the Great Plains to the East Coast has left dozens dead, with Missouri hardest hit. The storm brought tornadoes, hurricane-force winds, and heavy rain, causing extensive damage in multiple states. Thousands remain without power, while tornado watches continue across the East. The storms are expected to move offshore on Monday morning.
President Donald Trump says he is set to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, as the United States urges Russia to agree to a 30-day cease-fire in its conflict with Ukraine. The discussions are expected to focus on land concessions and the future of critical infrastructure in the region.
Trump slashed funds for U.S.-backed global media on Friday, with more than 1,300 Voice of America employees placed on leave. Cuts also targeted Radio Free Europe and Radio Free Asia.
