President to Take Part in Memorial Day Ceremony; No Rush to Make a Deal With Iran, Says Trump | NTD Good Morning (May 25)
President Donald Trump is expected to take part in Arlington National Cemetery’s annual Memorial Day wreath-laying ceremony on Monday, alongside Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and Maj. Gen. Antoinette Gant.
The observance will be followed by the National Memorial Day ceremony inside Arlington’s Memorial Amphitheater, where both Trump and Vance are expected to deliver remarks.
“If I make a deal with Iran, it will be a good and proper one, not like the one made by Obama, which gave Iran massive amounts of cash, and a clear and open path to a nuclear weapon,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday.
The president says the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed.
In Southern California, a damaged chemical tank is causing an emergency in Orange County. Approximately 50,000 residents are under evacuation orders as firefighters and hazmat teams work to prevent an explosion of a highly toxic, flammable chemical.
Fire officials say crews have discovered a crack in the tank, which may help relieve pressure inside the container. California Gov. Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency, and fire officials are working around the clock. Authorities say no injuries have been reported yet, and air monitoring remains within normal limits.
