Donald Trump to Be Sworn in as 47th President; 3 Israeli Hostages Released as Cease-Fire Begins
President-elect Donald Trump will start off the day with a service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, followed by tea at the White House, with outgoing President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. The two presidents will then travel to the Capitol Rotunda, where the incoming President and Vice President will officially be sworn into office.
The first three hostages were released after a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Romi Gonen, kidnapped from the Nova music festival, and Emily Damari and Doron Steinbrecher, who were kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, were held in captivity for 471 days, and were taken to Sheba Medical Center, where they reunited with their families. Medical professionals said all three were in stable condition.
President-elect Trump is officially inviting numerous world leaders for his inauguration, including Argentina’s President Javier Milei, leader of the British Reform Party Nigel Farage, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, among many others. Chinese regime leader Xi Jinping will be sending his second-in-command, Han Zheng as a representative. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is sending the country’s external affairs minister instead.
