Trump, Republicans Hold Midterm Convention; CENTCOM: Iran Failed to Hit US Navy Destroyers
A first of its kind, the Republican midterm convention kicks off for two days in Dallas on Wednesday, with President Donald Trump delivering the keynote address on the first night and closing remarks on the second night.
Trump administration officials are set to dominate the other keynotes. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Attorney General Todd Blanche, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will be among the featured speakers, along with former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump, Jr.
U.S. Central Command said all attacks from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have failed, pushing back against IRGC claims that Iran struck two U.S. Navy destroyers in the Middle East. The U.S. military said U.S. forces have successfully destroyed 10 Iranian tankers in the last week.
