District Judge Beryl Howell on May 2 struck down President Donald Trump’s executive order on revoking government contracts of law firm Perkins Coie.

Howell is set to decide in the coming weeks whether to extend her block on Trump's order against Perkins Coie. The Epoch Times has reached out to Perkins Coie for comment. T.J. Muscaro and Reuters contributed to this report.

It now appears that Perkins Coie was acting as an “outside source” to corroborate Steele. Fox News’ Catherine Herridge confirmed the identity of the Perkins Coie lawyer as Michael Sussmann, who is a partner at the firm.

The law firms in question are Perkins Coie, Jenner & Block, Susman Godfrey, and Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr (WilmerHale).

The Epoch Times contacted Perkins Coie for comment but did not receive a response by publication time.

Perkins Coie was hired by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee in 2016.

The complaint describes how several prominent firms—including Perkins Coie, Paul Weiss, and others—were singled out in public remarks and official directives.

Trump previously sued Clinton, Perkins Coie, and others, alleging that they conspired to rig the 2016 election against him. A federal judge in Florida dismissed the lawsuit in 2022.

Perkins Coie said in a statement that it looked forward to the court’s decision.

In recent weeks, Trump also signed a presidential memorandum targeting law firm Covington & Burling and an executive order targeting Perkins Coie. In response, Perkins Coie sued the administration in federal court in Washington last week.

On March 6, Trump issued an executive order against a separate law firm, Perkins Coie.

Perkins Coie was hired by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee in 2016.

Perkins Coie filed suit on March 11, persuading a judge to temporarily block enforcement of the order.

The Epoch Times reached out to Paul Weiss, Latham & Watkins, Perkins Coie, and Diversity Lab for comment, but did not receive a response by publication time.

Trump issued a similar executive order on March 6 targeting the law firm Perkins Coie and revoking its employees' security clearances.

Others, like Perkins Coie and WilmerHale, have responded with litigation.

Perkins Coie has challenged Trump’s executive action, arguing that the president’s order violated its rights of free speech, free association, and due process under the Constitution. 

The president signed similar orders for other law firms such as Perkins Coie, Jenner & Block and WilmerHale, which also took legal action.

Robby Mook, Clinton's 2016 campaign manager, has said he believed that work done by the international law firm Perkins Coie, which paid the dossier author, "was done for the purpose of providing legal services and legal advice" to the campaign.

Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, and Jenner & Block have chosen a different course of action: litigation.

The law firm Perkins Coie investigated the situation. It represents the lender for Whispering Pines, a 54-unit apartment complex at 1357 Helena Street in Aurora.

Another judge overturned Trump’s order targeting law firm Perkins Coie on May 2.

Blum, filed two different federal lawsuits on Tuesday, challenging the diversity fellowships by the international law firms Perkins Coie LLP and Morrison & Foerster LLP. AAFER filed its lawsuit (pdf) against Perkins Coie in the U.S.

Similar orders directed at law firms Perkins Coie, Jenner & Block, and WilmerHale were also enjoined or partially enjoined by courts in recent weeks.

Other law firms targeted by Trump, including Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, and Jenner & Block, have gone to court, looking to overturn the executive orders targeting them. Jacob Burg and Reuters contributed to this report.
