President Donald Trump says he would designate Antifa as a domestic terror organization, condemning political violence in the wake of the assassination of prominent conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump will soon sign the order to designate Antifa as a terrorist organization.

President Donald Trump has ordered troops to be deployed to Portland to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities, saying it’s in response to attacks by Antifa and other domestic extremists.

Trump also signed an order that labeled Antifa, a loosely organized anarcho-communist group, as a domestic terrorist organization.

This includes the recent assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, mass shootings targeting Christians, and other incidents—some of which led to the new designation of Antifa as a terrorist organization.

The Trump administration has also added the Sinaloa Cartel, Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), MS-13, Tren de Aragua, and Antifa Ost this year to the foreign terrorist organizations list.

Over the course of the FBI’s work since the current administration entered office, four of the FBI’s 10 most wanted fugitives were captured, and a series of Antifa-related arrests were made in multiple states, Bongino said.

Trump had said in a Truth Social post on Sept. 27 that he was sending troops “to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists.”
