The Crown laid additional charges on Tuesday against Pat King, the last of the high-profile trucker convoy protesters to remain behind bars. King was charged with three counts of perjury and three counts of obstruction of justice.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who refused to meet with the truckers himself or through representatives, invoked the Emergencies Act on Feb. 14 in response to the protests.

And I think the trucker protests showed that it did undermine the use of the Emergencies Act, and the use of the FINTRAC reporting mechanism did undermine the legitimacy of that system in the minds of a lot of Canadians who otherwise are perfectly law
