The truckers’ rally comes a day before a planned Australia and New Zealand-wide protest on Aug. 31, that has been circulating on social media for weeks.

Officials in Ohio said they are monitoring the possibility of a trucker protest against COVID-19 vaccine mandates that was reportedly scheduled for Monday.

It has also sparked similar protests around the world. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had refused to meet with the truckers, or have representatives hear their grievances, during the three weeks they remained in Ottawa.

There is no denying that the Truckers for Freedom protests have been experiencing a groundswell of support from Canadians. They may not represent a majority of Canadians, but clearly, they represent millions of them.

The protest continues, as many say they won't leave Ottawa until the mandates are lifted. The trucker protest in Canada has inspired other similar protests around the world, including in Australia.

A group of parliamentarians from Saskatchewan attended the “Freedom Convoy” protest in downtown Ottawa on Feb. 2 to show support for the truckers who’ve been protesting in the nation's capital to demand the repeal of restrictive pandemic measures.

The truckers have launched protests in multiple Canadian cities, including the capital Ottawa.

"I’m proud of the Truckers. Peaceful protest is a cornerstone of our democracy," Lewis tweeted on Jan. 25. "The liberal mandates are unscientific, vindictive, mean-spirited, and promote segregation.
