As convoys of truckers made their to Ottawa, many supporters joined the movement, which turned into a large-scale protest against all COVID-19 mandates and restrictions.

The protest has spread to other areas of the country as truckers block border crossings in Coutts, Alb., Windsor, Ont., and now in Emerson, Man., in support of the cause.

[FULL TRANSCRIPT BELOW] One year on, what is the legacy of the trucker convoy protests? Why have so many people bought into the idea that a society and its problems must be managed and controlled by so-called experts?

In many ways, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada went even further in dealing with the “Freedom Convoy” of truckers.

Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act on Feb. 14 in response to the protests against COVID-19 mandates and restrictions by truckers and their supporters in Ottawa and across the country in past weeks.

In Canada, the movement saw thousands to tens of thousands of truckers mobilise  in response to ongoing vaccine mandates and harsh government-mandated restrictions.

Canada’s regime media just pretended the protesting didn’t exist. When the Canadian truckers Freedom Convoy arrived in Ottawa for a mid-February “park-in” around Parliament, no one in the Canadian Davos set ever considered speaking with them.

The cross-country protest movement started after the government imposed a vaccine mandate on truckers crossing the U.S. border in mid-January and called for the lifting of all COVID-19 restrictions.

The convoy is being joined by truckers from all over the United States too, rising up in solidarity. This is easily the most meaningful and impactful protest to emerge in North America.

One of the initiators of the Freedom Convoy protest in February said there were power struggles within the movement, and while his main purpose was to have the vaccine mandate for truckers repealed, other organizers had other interests.
