Huawei's founder, Ren Zhengfei, denied this week that his company was used by the Chinese government to spy. Ren was a former Chinese army engineer and current Communist Party member.

Huawei Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou, the daughter of Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei, was arrested in Vancouver on Dec. 1 at the request of U.S. law enforcement.

Huawei was established by Ren Zhengfei, a former PLA officer, in 1987. Financial Times quoted a former Huawei executive in December 2018 that “things took off like crazy” after Ren met Jiang Zemin, the then head of the CCP, in 1994.

Military and Intelligence Agency Ties The French report said that Huawei’s founder, Ren Zhengfei, had close ties to the Chinese military.

Former employees at Huawei previously told The Epoch Times that the company zealously promoted “wolf culture,” a philosophy advocated by founder Ren Zhengfei, who drew from his background with the Chinese military.

The company and its founder, Ren Zhengfei, have repeatedly denied they spy for China.

Meng Wanzhou, Huawei's chief financial officer and daughter of its founder Ren Zhengfei, was arrested in Canada in December 2018 at the request of the United States on charges of bank and wire fraud in violation of U.S. sanctions against Iran.

Ren Zhengfei, founder and CEO of the Shenzhen-based company, warned in an internal memo sent to employees on Aug. 19 that the company is facing a “life and death moment.”

Meng Wanzhou, who is the deputy chair of Huawei’s board and daughter of company founder Ren Zhengfei, was arrested in Vancouver at the request of U.S. authorities, The Globe and Mail reported. A court hearing has been set for Dec. 7.

Meng Wanzhou, the CFO and daughter of the company’s founder Ren Zhengfei, has been under house arrest in Canada since late 2018.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused the chief executive of Huawei, Ren Zhengfei, of lying about his company's lack of ties to the Chinese regime, which he said represented a security risk.

In fact, the company’s founder, Ren Zhengfei, is a former military officer.
