WASHINGTON–A bipartisan group of lawmakers gathered in the capital today to commemorate the Tiananmen Square Massacre and celebrate the continued struggle for democracy in China.

Hong Kong authorities have banned the annual vigil commemorating the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre.

The criticisms focus on the recent conviction of 14 political dissidents by CCP authorities, and come in the wake of recent CCP suppression in Hong Kong about discussions on the history of the Tiananmen Square massacre.

“I remember the Tiananmen Square [massacre], I remember different things from history. So I understand a little bit of what goes on in the country, but I’m not that well informed,” Mr. Chandler said.

Terms such as “democracy,” “freedom,” and “human rights,” along with references to the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre, were found to be conspicuously absent from the apps’ generated content, according to the NSB.
