An Arizona man has been charged with terrorism after Bullhead City police say they found him building a bomb inside his home.
Police arrested Bryan Christopher Lee Chambers, 23, of Bullhead City, on May 6 on charges related to making terrorist threats.
Bullhead City Police detectives launched an investigation after the Yuma Prison Investigation Division alerted them to recorded inmate phone calls referencing a family member, identified as Bryan Chambers, allegedly making a bomb.
According to the Bullhead City Police Department, a review of prison call transcripts revealed conversations between an inmate and Bryan Chambers about hiding firearms and drugs before the inmate’s release and anticipated probation visits to the home.
Investigators also say the calls included references to an explosive device, with Chambers allegedly mentioning the Donald J. Laughlin Memorial Bridge.

The bridge connects Bullhead City, Arizona, and Laughlin, Nevada, known for its gambling casinos and tourism.
Opened in 1987, the bridge serves as a key interstate link, carrying roughly 30,000 vehicles a day.
Based on the recorded conversations, police obtained a temporary felony warrant for making terroristic threats, according to authorities.
Detectives placed Chambers under surveillance then arrested him on May 7 at about 5:30 a.m. He was also found in possession of cocaine.
With assistance from the Bullhead City Police Department Bomb Squad, explosives K-9 Wilbur of Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, and explosives K-9 Reddick of BNSF Railway Police, detectives executed a search warrant at Chambers’s residence.
Investigators said they discovered an explosive device, explosive-making materials, and additional quantities of cocaine inside the home.
In Arizona, making a terroristic threat is classified as a Class 3 felony, carrying a potential prison sentence of 2 1/2 to seven years for a first offense.
