A groom has filmed the terrifying moment his wife was bitten by a shark while they were on a honeymoon.
Sarah Illig was swimming in the clear waters of the Caribbean when a nurse shark lurched towards her.
Footage captured by her husband, Evan Carroll, shows the shark suddenly biting into her arm. She quickly recoils and swims as fast as she can away from the predator.
“I felt a whoosh of water, something clamped down on my arm and I assumed my husband was playing a prank on me,” she said, according to The Sun newspaper.

“Less than a second later I realized how much it hurt and looked past where my goggles were blocking my side vision to see the shark (bigger than myself) latched on to my arm.”
“It felt like five or six hands were grabbing into the side of my arm and squeezing it as hard as they could,” she told Inside Edition. “The bite was only a second long but only a half a second later my mind processed it and I realized that it hurt.”
Warning: Clip in the middle of the video contains graphic footage:
“We had to leave it untreated for an hour or so, just to get back to where we were going before we could get it treated. That was the most painful simply because it was an opened flesh wound,” she added.

In an Instagram post, Sarah shared the video with the description, “Ended the hunnaymoon with a bang (bite) check out the surprise and very rare nurse Shark bite in the video and don’t forget the volume to hear the crunchhhhh.”
Concerned friends asked if she was ok, with one asking if she had lost any skin in the attack.
She replied, “yes! If we were home we would have gotten some stitches but it worked out not getting them!”
“Only had a bunch of flesh wounds along my arm. We were worried about staph or another infection but it’s healing great!”
She added, “Scared the heckkkkk out of me! Evan had the GoPro under water filming and couldn’t even tell it happened since he was above water!”

She and her husband got married three weeks before the incident, going to the Bahamas for their honeymoon.
Illig noted that she is “a little more nervous” when entering the water.
Nurse Sharks Approach Boy
A man who was operating a drone over a beach in the Bahamas saw the moment a group of sharks approached a boy.
Artem Tkachenko spotted a boy in green swimming trunks running into the ocean before the sharks approached the child, who was seemingly unaware of the situation that was unfolding around him.
“Run! Run!” he screamed at him from the shore, Inside Edition reported.

Even though his command to the boy was simplistic, the boy responded and rushed to shore. There were four sharks in all.
Some people pointed out that the sharks may have been nurse sharks, which are generally harmless.
