Wuhan residents living in the epicenter of what is now a global pandemic, were not able to go to work after the city was locked down on Jan. 23.

Many have exhausted their savings, but haven’t received any financial aid from the regime.

On March 23, as soon as the city’s Headquarters for Epidemic Control announced that Wuhan residents can go out freely and public transportation would resume, a group of people took to the streets to demand government relief funds and transparency regarding the pandemic, and the prevention of embezzlement of funds by corrupt officials.

Protester:

“The various government agencies
Always pocket welfare funds.
It happens across all levels of government.
We demand openness and transparency!”

Man:

“These are the same group who protested yesterday.
What use is it to protest (in China)?”
