Biden Hails Economic Record; Syria Rebel Leader Vows to Pursue Assad Officials
U.S. President Joe Biden touted his administration’s economic record at Washington’s Brookings Institution on Tuesday and warned against a reprise of Republican “trickle-down economics” during President-elect Donald Trump’s second term. The statements could be Biden’s final major speech on the economy.
Armed rebels who overthrew Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime are forming a transitional government. Its leader has vowed to pursue Assad officials who were involved in the torture of Syrians. He said his transitional government would publish a list of officials involved in war crimes and extradite them back to Syria.
