Trump Holds First Cabinet Meeting; House Committee Hears How Foreign Aid Has Hurt US Interests

President Donald Trump held the first Cabinet meeting of his second term at the White House on Wednesday. The meeting was also attended by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who is leading the Department of Government Efficiency. Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will come to Washington on Friday to sign an agreement on rare earth minerals and other topics.

The House Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency held a hearing on Wednesday titled “America Last: How Foreign Aid Undermined U.S. Interests Around the World.” The members and witnesses explored foreign aid spending that harmed U.S. interests, and examined reform proposals.
