Trump Meets With Norwegian Prime Minister; Trump Tells Putin to Stop After Russian Strikes on Kyiv
U.S. President Donald Trump is meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere at the White House on April 24. Accompanied by his finance minister, Jens Stoltenberg, the Norwegian leader’s visit underscores the delicate balance of transatlantic relations amid rising trade disputes and shared security imperatives. Topics of discussion will include trade and regional security, among other issues, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters during a briefing on April 22.
Russia attacked Kyiv with missiles and drones overnight, killing at least nine people and injuring more than 70, according to Ukrainian officials. It appears to have been Russia’s biggest attack on the Ukrainian capital in nine months. Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: “I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!”
