Tensions are rising in California following mass immigration raids and the ensuing violent protests in Los Angeles. National Guard troops have been deployed in LA, and 500 U.S. Marines are on standby. President Donald Trump has called the protesters an “insurrectionist mob” and vowed to restore order. NTD spoke with Mike Leon, NTD News contributor and host of the “Can We Please Talk” podcast, and Gerard Filitti, political strategist and senior counsel at The Lawfare Project, to discuss the latest updates and the legality of Trump’s federal interventions.
Trade talks between the United States and China are resuming in London on Monday. Key issues include the enforcement of a May trade deal and China’s rare earth export restrictions. FBI Director Kash Patel is also accusing the Chinese Communist Party of fueling America’s fentanyl crisis as part of a long-term strategy to weaken the United States.
Trump’s travel ban went into effect on Monday, prohibiting citizens from 12 countries from entering the United States and imposing travel restrictions on citizens from seven others. Trump connected the new travel ban to the recent firebomb attack in Boulder, Colorado, and warned of the risks posed by individuals who overstay their visas. He said the measure will protect national security and ensure public safety.
