Trump, Netanyahu Discuss Future of Gaza; GOP Seeks to Reclaim State Senate Supermajority in Iowa

U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the future of Gaza and the continued security threats against Israel during their meeting on Monday. Trump warned the Iranian regime against resuming its pursuit of a nuclear weapon, threatening further strikes.

Voters in Iowa Senate District 16 are going to the polls on Tuesday for a special election, with a Republican supermajority in the state’s upper chamber on the line. The election will be held to replace state Sen. Claire Celsi, a Democrat, who died in October. Democratic candidate Renee Hardman and Republican Lucas Loftin are running for the vacant seat. Going into the race, Republicans hold 33 seats to the Democrats’ 17.
