Trump: ‘We Are Taking Over the Strait’; EU Foreign Ministers Discuss New Russia Sanctions

President Donald Trump said on Monday the United States is “taking over” the Strait of Hormuz from Iran. Speaking to “Fox & Friends,” the president said: “We’re taking over the strait. They have nothing. They’ve got nothing.” He said the U.S. side held an 11-hour meeting with Iran on Sunday “and everything was agreed to,” but Iran later demanded changes.

European Union countries have yet to reach agreement on a broad 21st package of sanctions against Russia, but may decide on Monday to add 250 individuals and entities to their Russia sanctions list, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said.
