New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is being criticized by Governor Andrew Cuomo for his refusal to have the National Guard deployed to the City. De Blasio said local police have the situation under control, yet soon after his statement the NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association issued a public letter to the NY Police Commissioner saying they do not have the situation under control, and that police officers are being attacked from all sides.

The letter calls into question whether the NYPD is capable of dealing with the situation, as de Blasio claimed. It states, “What this Department cannot do is stay the course: our efforts to take back the city from the lawless have thus far failed miserably.”

And President Donald Trump issued an executive order on religious freedom that could be a major blow to the Chinese government, where authorities have brutally persecuted religious groups including Tibetan Buddhists, Falun Gong practitioners, Muslim Uyghurs, and House Christians.
